¨No quiero ir al cielo¨ (I don't want to go to heaven), 1930. Dedicated to my friends who participated in the demonstrations of 11 July 2021 in Cuba and today have to serve absurd sentences imposed by the dictatorship. Boxes that belonged to other people, with different histories, cease to have the function of
a container to become a bottomless object devoid of meaning and history. Just like Hatuey (the character depicted in the painting I reproduce on one of
the box covers) who did not want to go to heaven if the Spanish colonists went there, I do not want to go to heaven either if the communists live there.
